Pratap Singh was one of the bravest Rajput rulers of India, known as Maharana Pratap and governed by Rajasthan Mewar approximately 35 years ago. Known as Maharana Pratap for his participation in Haldighati and Dewair, he was one of the few Indian monarchs to oppose the Mogul Empire, while other Rajput kings accepted Akbar's dominance. 4. India's first indigenous liberty fighter:


Known for his heroism, the first "born independence warrior" of India, Maharana Pratap was known by many as the heroic struggle against the Mughals against the Akbar army.


6. Do not give up:


While Maharana Pratap lost the Haldighati battle, the valiant Rajput monarch declined to give up. Later, he captured the Mughals' lands, but Chittor was not won back.


7. A friendship that is unknown:


Maharana Pratap has an unknown relationship, as only a few opponents realised, with his devoted horse Chetak. Chetak had also saved Maharana Pratap's life despite his deadly wounded during the battle of Haldighati. Later, several Hindi authors and poets, praising its bravery, wrote about Chetak.
